After going through the ticket gates for the Shinkansen at Toyohashi Sta., please transfer to a Meitetsu line, You can catch a train from the platform #3, which is in the same station premise. Any meitetsu train will take you to Okazaki for 540YEN, but the limited express is the fastest. If you sit in a reserved seat, however, you must pay a surcharge of 350YEN. You can buy a ticket for a ride and a seat reservation at the ticket window next to the tracks or from a conductor on the train. Or, please wait until you get to Higashi Okazaki and adjust the additional fare to a station staff at the ticket gates, before you go through it.

REMEMBER: you have to give them your JR(Shinkansen) ticket when you buy a Meitetsu ticket, so do not throw it away!

From Higashi Okazaki station, it is about 7 minutes walk to the institute and 5 minutes to the Okazaki New Grand Hotel by taxi.
